In Graantje de Voorste: Het Bordspel the farmyard has turned into a feeding frenzy. As a flock of greedy chickens, 2–6 players race to snatch the tastiest food tokens from six different farms and turn them into points, all while a hungry fox creeps closer step by step. Each round you secretly play a food card to grab treats from the current farm – or a chicken card to flee to the next farm and cash in your haul – before rolling dice in a tall dice tower that advances the fox along its track. It’s a fast, family-friendly push-your-luck board game of about 45 minutes for players aged 10 and up.
Key Features:
Cheeky chickens vs. cunning fox: Colourful artwork and a lighthearted farm theme put you in the feathers of chickens dodging a prowling fox.
Simultaneous secret card play: Everyone chooses one card face-down each round, trying to predict where others will search for food and when they might flee.
Chicken card to bank your loot: Playing a chicken card lets you escape to the next farm board and immediately convert your collected food tokens into victory points.
Dice tower and fox track: Dice rolled through the tower show fox pawprints; every print moves the fox closer to your flock on the track.
High-risk, high-reward turns: Staying longer at a farm means more food and bigger point conversions, but if five pawprints are rolled before you flee, you lose everything.
Six farms, escalating tension: Farm by farm the stakes rise; once all six have been raided, the player with the highest total score wins the game.
Board game based on the card game: Expands the popular Graantje de Voorste card game with a big board, striking dice tower and a three-language rulebook in one box.
Why Choose Graantje de Voorste: Het Bordspel?
Graantje de Voorste: Het Bordspel shines if you’re looking for a lively family game where bluffing, timing and a bit of luck all matter. Secretly choosing when to stick around for extra food and when to cut your losses keeps everyone engaged, and the fox’s slow advance along the track builds real tension and table talk. The production – from the board to the dice tower – gives it strong presence on the table, while the rules remain approachable enough to teach in just a few minutes. It’s an easy recommendation for families and casual groups who enjoy push-your-luck games with plenty of laughter and dramatic, last-second escapes.
